About the BioChange Lab
Who we are
We are a thriving ecology research group who aims to help improving human-environment cohabitation on Earth. We are curious and we are nature lovers and thus look for answers to questions who help society deal with the complexity and vulnerability of our ecosystems. This is of special interest in times of climate change, for which reason we explore impacts of global warming on species diversity. Ecosystems with great diversity are more resilient towards climate change, whilst climate change fosters a decrease in species diversity.
We are motivated to support environmental and human health with our research. Functioning and resilient ecosystems are the base of human food supply and living space conservation.
Our research concentrates on the distribution of global and regional biodiversity in space and time. Both questions arising from complex issues and correlations and unexpected research findings are our passion. The gain of scientific insight shall be integrated in interdisciplinary models which process data from biogeography, physiology, climatology, ecology etc. in oder to assess future environmental scenarios.
